Open **Products → Travel Fees**: "Build distance and drive-time pricing that applies automatically by assigned team member." You need product and financial permissions to edit fees.

## Create a Fee

Select **+ New Fee** to open the **Travel Fee Builder** ("Pick a trigger type, define the rule, and assign who this fee applies to").

1. Enter a **Fee Name**, **Status** (**active** or **inactive**), and **Description**.
2. Choose the type:

| Type | How It Charges |
| --- | --- |
| **Flat Fee** | One fixed amount every time the fee is triggered. |
| **Percent of Order** | Scales with the order subtotal. |
| **Distance** | Set free miles, then charge per extra mile block. Use **Max Drive Radius (mi)**, **Free Miles Included**, and **Miles per Billable Increment** from an **Origin Address**. |
| **Per Mile** | Charges exact route miles. Set **Max One-Way Miles**, **Free Miles**, and optionally **Higher Rate After** with **Optional Higher Rate ($/mi)**. **Round Trip** also charges the drive back. Max one-way miles are capped before round trip is applied. |
| **Drive Time** | Charges by live route-minute blocks after your limit. Set **No Fee Up to (Minutes)** and **Minutes per Billable Increment** from a **Home Base Address**. Add a **Sample Destination Address** to preview. |

3. Assign team members with **Assign User**. Each fee rule can be assigned to specific team members and triggers on their appointments.
4. Review the rule preview, then save.

## Payroll Allocation

Split a travel fee between the company and photographers:

- **Company Keeps**: **What is left**, **Percent of fee**, or **Fixed dollar amount**.
- **Photographers Receive**: **What is left after company**, a percent, or a fixed amount. "Photographers receive" is the total payroll amount for this travel fee. Assigned photographers split it evenly.

## Example

A **Per Mile** fee from your office: 15 free miles, $1.25 per mile after, **Round Trip** on, maximum 60 one-way miles. A shoot 25 miles away is charged for 10 miles each way.

## When Fees Overlap

If a service area fee and a travel fee both match an address, the **Location Fee Rule** in Service Area settings decides. See [Set Up Service Areas](https://help.remediahub.com/hc/help-center/articles/set-up-service-areas).

## Troubleshooting

- **"No active service providers found."** Mark team members as service providers in **Team**, then assign them here.

## Builder Controls and Previews

**Fee Library** lists saved rules. **+ Create New Fee** opens a new fee builder; it may appear as **+ New Fee** in a compact header. **Service Area Slider** adjusts the distance rule's maximum drive radius together with **Max Drive Radius (mi)**. It does not replace the free-mile and billable-increment settings.

For **Drive Time**, **Route Time (Minutes)** is a read-only route preview calculated from the home base and sample destination. It is not a place to type an appointment duration.

In the payroll split, **Company Keeps (%)** and **Photographers Receive (%)** accept percentages from 0 to 100, with decimals. The corresponding **Company Keeps ($)** and **Photographers Receive ($)** fields accept fixed currency amounts when that mode is selected. Choose each mode first and enter only its relevant value. Photographer allocation is the total for the fee and is split among assigned photographers.

After selecting team members in the assignment dialog, choose **Apply Selection**, then save the fee. Review the assigned people in the saved rule.
