Open Availability → Service Areas. "Create service areas, decide whether each one is included, restricted, or fee-based, and we will enforce that automatically during booking."

Create a Service Area

Select + New Service Area to open the Service Area Builder. It has three steps: find an area on the map, choose a rule and fee, then save.

Step 1: Map Coverage Area

Use the map buttons to switch modes:

  • Radius (circle): search a Center Address or click the map to set the center, then set Service Radius (Miles). A road-aware preview outlines reachable drive miles.
  • Draw (pencil): draw custom boundaries on the map.

Turn on Show Other Active Overlays for Reference to compare with existing areas.

Step 2: Save Service Area

Field What It Does
Service Area Name A label for your team.
Color The map color.
Status active or inactive. Inactive areas are not enforced.
Rule Type Included Service Area, Restricted / Unsupported, or Fee-Based Area.
Request Only Customers inside this area submit a scheduling request instead of choosing a live time slot. You review the route and confirm manually.
Assign Service Providers Check the providers who serve this area. Unchecked members stay off this area's provider list.
Fee Amount ($) Used when the rule type is Fee-Based Area. The amount is added automatically as a removable order line item.

Select Create Service Area. Edit or delete areas from Current Service Areas.

Service Area Settings

Open the settings button to set your policy:

  • Outside-Area Action (When Address Is Outside All Included Service Areas):
    • Block checkout outside active service areas, or
    • Allow booking and flag outside-area orders for review.
  • Customer Notice Message: shown on the booking form whenever an address is outside your coverage.
  • Location Fee Rule (When Both Fees Apply): when a service area fee and a travel fee both match an address, choose Use Higher Fee (Recommended), Use Service Area Fee, Use Travel Fee, or Add Both Fees.

Select Save Policy.

Example

Create an included 25-mile radius around your office. Add a fee-based area beside it with a $50 fee, and a restricted area for an island you do not serve. Set the outside-area action to block checkout. Customers in the fee area see a $50 line item, customers on the island cannot book, and everyone inside the radius books normally.

Troubleshooting

  • "No active service providers available." Mark team members as Service Provider in Team.
  • Assignment routing ignores someone. The provider must be assigned to the matching service area.

Coverage and Outside-Area Dialogs

Create or Edit Coverage is the Service Area Builder: find an area on the map, choose radius or drawn coverage, set the rule and fee, and save the area. Outside-Area Booking Rule is the separate policy dialog controlling how checkout handles addresses outside all active included service areas. Its customer notice and Location Fee Rule apply to that policy; drawing a new boundary alone does not change the outside-area action.
